The right components for the right bike

As usual, Canyon relies on well-known suppliers, such as Shimano, SRAM, Mavic, Zipp and Co. for their components. When looking at the rear derailleur on the Speedmax CF, you will mostly find high-quality mechanical gears, such as the Shimano Ultegra, or electric gears from Japan, such as the Shimano Ultegra Di2 or the Dura Ace Di2. The latter is often used on the particularly lightweight version, the Speedmax CF SLX. In addition to Shimano, Canyon also relies on shift groups from SRAM. High-priced bike models are mostly equipped with electronic SRAM shifters, the Etap and Etap AXS shift groups. The world champion Jan Frodeno drives his Canyon Speedmax, for example, with a SRAM Red Etap.

The time trial Canyon bikes can be supplemented with a power meter or you can purchase a bike with a power meter already installed as standard. In the lower price bracket, Canyon relies increasingly on Ceramicspeed for their high-end components for road bikes. The brakes on the Speedmax are usually selected to match the shifting group, so from Shimano or SRAM. The older models of Canyon are equipped with rim brakes. These rim brakes were attached in one variant of the Speedmax CF SL to the front of the fork. Whereas with the lighter and more expensive models of the Speedmax CF SLX, the rim brakes are integrated for maximum aerodynamic. The newer Speedmax series are equipped with disc brakes. The models with disc brakes are already identified in the name by the abbreviation Canyon Speedmax Disc, as in the example Canyon Speedmax CF 8 Disc. Together with Aero Partner Swiss Side, Canyon has increased the aerodynamics even more as the disc brakes allow for better braking performance.

When it comes to the wheels, Canyon's aerodynamic setup continues. Together with partners like Mavic, DT Swiss and Zipp, the best carbon wheels are installed onto the triathlon bikes. The particularly high-priced and high-end bikes, like the Speedmax CF 9.0, are mostly equipped with Zipp wheels, like the Zipp Firecrest. Tires, from Schwalbe and Continental, are then attached to the wheels. Depending on your preference, these tires can have a tube or be tubeless. Canyon's aero cockpit is designed for optimum air flow and can be adjusted to the geometry of each athlete with the help of spacers and various setting options, so that the aero position rarely has to be abandoned in a long race and you can stay on the aero bars as long as possible.

<img class="image_resized" style="width:36.75%;" src=https://buycycle.com/"https:////lh3.googleusercontent.com//pdxEahtQHC0Y0MExkYvK0ZDIoUVxAehpNlidm3hI87YuLllcDcpwIN21OXPruCRAkWdXfFjoHpotPcG58xi5Bbud34PUad2NzVlJJZJMCLBDk_x7H_PHVf2LxgrDAnrPwxQhdV79XYNKNjOfGg/">
